Swim Team Info
Welcome to the Wakefield Chapel Wahoos Swim Team! We are proud to be celebrating our 56th year (1970 - 2026) in the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL), encouraging a love for the sport of swimming in a fun, supportive environment. With over 250 swimmers from ages four to 18, the Wakefield Chapel Wahoos' goal is to support swimmers of all ages and abilities in improving their swimming technique while fostering team camaraderie and demonstrating the enthusiastic good sportsmanship of the Great Wahoo. Our Wahoo spirit makes this the best swim club in the NVSL!
Our swim season is short and fast, running from Memorial Day to the end of July. Time Trials are held before the official season starts. NVSL scored "A" meets are held on five consecutive Saturday mornings (swimmers are selected based on times) and Developmental "B" meets are on Monday evenings (open to ALL Wahoo swimmers). Towards the end of the season, swimmers may participate in a Division Championship meet and an individual All-Star meet . There are relay-only Divisional and All-Star meets, held on two Wednesdays during the season. We host a Wahoo-only Lollipop meet on the last Thursday of the season, for our youngest Wahoos to show off their improved swimming skills.
In addition, there are many social activities for all team members and their families including a pasta dinner, pep rallies, ice cream socials, pancake breakfasts, team lunches after meets, and an end of season banquet to celebrate every Wahoo.
All WCRA four to 18 year olds are welcome to join the team - come swim and make new friends!
