Monday Developmental Meets (B-Meets)
In addition to Saturday A or NVSL Meets, the Wahoos Swim Team holds Monday evening B or Developmental meets with other area pools. Dates for these meets (and other meets and activities) can be found on the Swim Meets page.
The Monday Developmental Meets are open to all Swim Team members, including Minnows. These are developmental, unscored meets. Swim times are officially recorded, and swimmers may be awarded place and competitor ribbons.
The Development Reps will send an email to all registered Swim Team members each week notifying swimmers and parents of the upcoming Monday Developmental Meet, sign-up procedures, and applicable sign-up deadlines. Late entries are not permitted.
Swimmers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the meets. Directions are provided by email prior to the meet. There is no caravan for Developmental Meets.
Warm-ups occur before every meet. The home team warms up first and times are strictly enforced. Please make sure your swimmer makes it to the pool in time for warm-ups! For Monday Developmental meets, the home team warms-up from 5pm to 5:20pm, the visiting team warms-up from 5:20pm to 5:40pm.
Ribbons are awarded for 1st through 6th place at Monday Developmental meets. At all Monday Developmental Meets, competitor ribbons are awarded for all 10 and under swimmers. During a Monday Developmental Meet, if a swimmer is disqualified, a competitor ribbon is provided.
“Personal Best” ribbons are provided each time a swimmer swims a best time.
Ribbons are distributed in the Wahoo mailboxes on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Please only check your own mailbox for ribbons, and let your friends collect their own – we cannot replace lost ribbons. If you are missing a ribbon, wait a few days, check your mailbox, and then ask the Team Reps or the Developmental Reps if it still doesn’t show up. (Adults, please help our youngest swimmers with checking the family mailbox.)

Swimmers who want to participate in a Monday Developmental meet MUST sign up no later than 11:59pm on the Saturday prior to the meet. At midnight on Saturday night, the sign-up closes and there is no guarantee of a late entry.
As soon as a swimmer and his/her coach feel the swimmer is ready to swim an event, the swimmer is encouraged to participate in Monday Developmental Meets. All swimmers that meet the eligibility guidelines outlined below are strongly encouraged to swim in as many meets as possible.
The Wahoos coaches are available to assist the swimmers with selecting their events. Eligibility requirements for Monday Developmental meets:

Meet Officials and Volunteers
A successful meet requires many volunteers. If you have a swimmer participating in a Saturday NVSL or Monday Developmental Meet please plan to volunteer during the meet.
To support the swimmers competing in the meet, every meet requires timers, deck marshals, a clerk of course, starters, stroke & turn judges, relay take-off judges, table workers, and announcers. Home meets also require snack bar workers and other volunteers. Please see the volunteer page for more information.
Our ability to run meets and social events for the swimmers are completely dependent on volunteers. Each Wahoo family must support the team – whether volunteering on the pool deck as a timer or official or helping to organize a social event. It takes over 40 volunteers to time, officiate, & score one swim meet – over 450 different volunteer activities over the course of one summer season! Volunteers are the backbone of our neighborhood team – the Wahoos cannot succeed without your help!
Anyone thinking about becoming an official should contact our head official. We need officials to run all our meets. Serving as an official is a unique opportunity to learn more about swimming and get a great view of the meet! Dates for training clinics are available from the Team Reps and are posted on the NVSL website at www.mynvsl.com.
